I had attended a seminar on financial planning and financial freedom last week , there the presenter had mentioned some authors and their books there quite a number of books he mentioned only this one stuck in my brain so, went and bought this book and read it last sunday.
T Harv Eker is a millionaire , went from zero to a millionaire in two and half years. He built his training company from one assistant in 2000 to a 70 employee company in 2004 with revenue of $ 10 million!!
The book consists of two parts, the first part is 'Your money blueprint' and the second part is 'The Wealth files'
In the first chapter he gives an analogy of life to a tree, we focus a lot on our results which are like fruits of a tree but we dont think about the roots which is responsible for the fruit. what he wants to convey is if we have to improve the fruit we should work on the roots.
Here he introduces us to "Declaration" which we are supposed to say twice loudly and clearly, once with our hand on our heart and once with our index finger touching our head. There are a number of 'declarations' all through the book.
We are all programmed about money during our childhood and that is when our 'money blueprint' is created and we carry it all through our lives. Programming is done 'verbally' or by 'modelling' and by 'specific incidents' revolving around money In the book he gives 'declarations' for all the different kind of programming that we have faced. Before giving the declarations he wants us to write down our thoughts or experiences on the different programming and then read out the declarations.
We as children have heard our parents talking about money and its non availability , teachers say 'money is root of all evil' or 'rich people become rich by cheating' all these statement have had some impact in our subconcious mind and declarations helps remove all those blocks.
Programming leads to thoughts, thoughts lead to feelings, feelings leads to action, action brings results.
I enjoyed reading and doing all those exercises and reading the 'declaration'
In the second part he gives 17 wealth principles . I dont want to be a spoiler by mentioning all the principles but will mention a few
1] Rich people belive "I create my life" poor people belive "life happens to me "
2] Rich people prefer to get for the 'results' but the poor people want to get paid for 'time'.
3] Rich people make their money work hard for them but poor people work hard for money (heard this somewhere?)
You will have to read the book to get the other wealth principles and also how he explains the money blueprint
Writing is straight forward and engrossing, please sit with a spare notebook and pencil when you are in the first section and the second section you just read.
I have read most of the popular self-help books but this one is different !
I recommend this book to everyone who thinks that they are not getting the kind of money they deserve !!
